"Hello, everyone." Transport for London's Inclusive Language

"We have reviewed the language that we use in announcements and elsewhere and will make sure that it is fully inclusive, reflecting the great diversity of London."
Mark Evers, director of customer strategy, Transport for London (TfL)

"We welcome gender neutral announcements to be rolled out across TfL as it will ensure that everyone — no matter who they identify as — feels accounted for."

Not only did the Tube change its announcements from "Ladies and gentlemen" into non-gendered "Hello, everyone". It also got "a fabulous Pride make over" by reimagining its iconic roundel shown at Oxford Street and Tottenham Cour Road in rainbow flag colours (Metro).

"The shift in wording comes after months of campaigning by LGBTQ activists, who urged London Mayor Sadiq Khan to scrap the binary "ladies and gentlemen" greeting." (Fortune)
